I love <3 Cupcakes!!

I don't know why it took me so long to find longtime SL member Mimi Coral's delicious shop <3 Cupcakes!! She's been in SL forever - maybe I'm just slow! Thanks to Elisha for telling me about her!

Mimi makes all kinds of dresses, and just about only dresses. Retro, nightlife, cocktail, day, casual, swingy, funky, play - you name it and she has a dress for you! I think my first visit there I bought half of her inventory!! Her textures are rich and luscious and multi-layered and very creatively applied. Some of her edges are a little frayed, but the textures make them so worth while if you don't mind that! I like to think of them as "vintage" or gently worn. ;)

Clockwise from top left: Sequins and Glitter Dress, White and Black Dress, Black and Silver Lace Dress, and Black Corset Dress.

Last time I was there, she also had this little freebie available which is just toooo cute! Gold sequins with a tiny prim flap skirt - sweet and sassy and very very short!

<3 Cupcakes in located in Optimal http://slurl.com/secondlife/Optimal/130/208/24

Prices are extreeeeemly reasonable! Less than $200L per outfit.

Lucia Freebie at Bossa Nova

One of my favorite SL designers, Moire Georgette of Bossa Nova, has done it again! Another freebie shared with the SL community - this one is a twofer - two black and white tea length gowns - very elegant - strapless and classic in design. A net underskirt poofs out the flouncy flexi skirt and a contrasting sash cinches the waist.

She's also moved her store to Amour (183, 60, 27) - do go and visit her new digs, pick up the freebies and browse her new collections!

Another Lucky Day at Pixel Dolls!

Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? Not Nephilaine Protagonist, apparently!

Pixel Dolls is showing more love this week, in the form of some delicious freebies! Port Seraphine location only.

There's a black cropped sweater with sculpted prim cuffs, a sumptously silky peachy pink leotard in multi layers, and two piles of tank tops - wrapped and wrinkled , fifteen of each, all for free. The wrapped is a crossover top with a little tie over the decolletage, and the wrinkled has a delightfully ruched texture over the tummy.

I'm completely in love with the leotard- try and peel it off me!

She likes us! She really, really likes us!!! Thank you, Nephilaine!!!

Andromeda at Last Call

Ginny Talamasca of Last Call has done it again! She's got a fantastic new release out in her shop - a limited release - in six colors - all for 1L$ each!

Andromeda comes in a deep ruby red, amethyst, antique gold, apatite (teal) , emerald, and sapphire, each deeper and more lustrous than the last. As an added plus, they're all spelled correctly, too! ;) I love the strappy back on it, as well! The skirts move nicely, and the double hem is extremely well done! Two skirts are included, one is very full and the other is slimmer.

Pictured above is the Andromeda in apatite with the skinny skirt. I cannot resist teal!

They're for sale for approximately two and a half weeks so get there soon - TP your friends to Last Call at Dazzle! They'll be glad you did!

Enkythings 1L$ Store

I'm back after an extended RL move - and of course I've jumped right back into shopping again! I ran across Enkythings 1LS store this morning, while I was drooling over the boots!

Enktan Gully has built quite the little newbie heaven here - hair, neko, clothes, shoes, furniture, attachments, toys, jewelry - you name it, it's there. I've added the landmark to the folder of freebie newbie stuff that I hand out to new members.

Oh! Bossa Nova Freebies at Relika!

Tons of new freebies this week!

First, from Moire Georgette of Bossa Nova, she's used her signature texture to make this lovely flex dress on the top, which is available in her shop in Dos Corazones for only 1L$. Similar to her lovely Mariana dresses, the dress can appear almost sheer in some lights, so be forewarned!

She's had the bikini available for a while, and it comes in a variety of configurations and layers. It includes a bikini or thong bottom and a bra cup or halter top. Very nice! Also, only 1L$. Bossa Nova secondlife://Dos Corazones/79/122/25

Next up is Rosemary Galbraith of Oh! What a Neat ... Boutique and her newest freebie, the Sequined Flexi Dress in Aqua - very cute, very sassy, nicely done and the prim bow sits just right along the belt. It's very sweet and you just can't beat the price. She has quite a few sequinned items at the moment and I am a sucker for her corsets. ;) Oh! What a Neat ... Boutique secondlife://Seonggye/82/92/601

Last but not least is the package of freebies from Relika Itamae - she's put together three lovely jacket-layer sweaters with very chic prim neck scarves in blue/black, green/gold and a deep purple. On the top, a bohemian layered look with the La Belle Skirt by Material Squirrel and purple ballet flats from Kitty's Rampage. On the bottom, a preppier look with the blue plaid pants from TART. Elven Dresses at Avilion

One of the things that I find so unique to Second Life is the sense of community that you find in certain places. So many of the folks who create in SL are not here to make a buck, because they read you can be an instant millionaire in Business Week. One of the ways that the SL residents give back to the community is in the form of that favorite of all, the freebie. Because of the sacred nature of the freebie gift to the community, there's one category of resident that is reviled as the most repellant of all the shady characters in SL , the lowest of the low - the freebie reseller. I shiver to think on it.

Fortunately, these low-lifes are few and far between. Those who value community and still make and distribute freebies to the world are wonderful people, and I hope to recognize some of them regularly. One such is the community of Avilion, a medieval community with an Elven flair that has three RPG sims called Avilion Mist, Avilion Isle, and Avilion Grove. The builds there are deliciously ornate, lush, and inviting. They have a spectacular ballroom that just has to be seen to be appreciated. And it's all free.

During one of my many visits to the Avilion sims, I stumbled across a freebie box of Elven gowns. Being a freebie maven, I of course snagged one, and found that they were quite nice indeed! Simple garments with lovely textures, that immediately bring one into character in the medieval setting. Created by Oracle Stonebender, they're a generous addition to the freebie offerings in Second Life. The gowns come in many colors, this midnight blue, a forest green, a shiny silver, and this rich black.

There's even a pants option in the silver tapestry texture, and all the garments are copy/mod/transfer, in true orthodox freebie tradition.

My personal favorite is the silver tapestry gown - I just love the rich textures on the fabric and it has a lovely glow to it. Dance the night away in this freebie elven gown. It's magical.
